Night at the Races Gift Auction was organized by Anthony’s Answer in the Fight Against Cystic Fibrosis to benefit Breathe, The Morgan Lucas Schuldt Foundation. AJ Silvestri, who is a sixth-grader and his, parents Kerryann and Ken Silvestri were the Event’s Chair people. In addition, it took a stable full of family and friends, who volunteered and harness the event that took First Place, making it a Winning Fund Raiser. The event was held at the VFW, Post 4699 Sayreville, NJ on October 23, 2015.
The night was filled with excitement and anticipation. Volunteers who worked tirelessly for months planning the event, to those donating their time collecting and soliciting for the gift auction, to coordinating and managing the evenings fundraising activities.
The starting gate opened at 6pm with a pasta dinner donated from Capone’s Family Restaurant, Toms River NJ. Their Penne Vodka was to die for! Saker’s Shoprite donated a large sheet cake with cannoli cream filling. In addition to the volunteers’ who made countless homemade cookies and brownies for the event.
The field of gift baskets was endless. Tables filled with holiday decoration, sets of themed books, toys, and videos for all ages, name brand women purses, perfumes and skincare products, large screen TVs, NFL football tickets, and vacation vouchers to Disney World, the Caribbean, and Central America.
The Main Event was a Night at the Races. It captured the feeling of being at a racetrack. People were jumping up and down, routing for their horse to win. The energy in the room was contagious. It was truly a fun night with family and friends.
We are truly thankful and grateful to the Silvestri Family and their family of friends who volunteered for this event. Your tireless dedication and love for AJ, and the desire to help those with this life-threating disease, Raised over $10,000.
